For 17 years, I served Texas public schools. Ten of those years I was a high school principal. Almost every Friday night meant a football game, a school function, or being “on” in some way. I was proud of that work, and I still am. 🏈

But somewhere along the way, I lost a lot of myself. I was burned out, unhappy, and if I’m being real with you, I was embarrassed by the version of me I was showing up as. At work, at home, everywhere.

Three years ago, at almost 40, I woke up and decided something had to change.

Did I buy a new car? Yes 😅 Did we buy land and move back closer to family? Yep. Did I walk away from a career I had given nearly two decades to? Also yes.

Most people would call that a mid-life crisis. I call it my mid-life GLOW UP. 💕

When I left education, my husband asked me the big question: “So what are you going to do now?”

Before I even had a plan, I started talking about helping women like me. Women who are pouring into everyone else and running on empty. I wanted to be the support I needed during my darkest times.

So I tapped into my medical background and went all in. I enrolled in nursing school to earn my BSN and completed the certifications I needed to do this work the right way.

In November 2025, I opened Lush Lab TX inside a local salon here in Whitesboro, under the medical direction of Dr. Daniel Olivero, MD. Since then, my clients have helped me grow into a larger space in downtown Whitesboro, and I could not be more grateful. 🩷

I created Lush Lab to be the kind of place I wished I’d had during those tired, burned out years. A place where you feel welcome, heard, and never judged. Where you get natural results, real conversations, and someone in your corner who wants you to feel like the best version of yourself. Think of me as your Health & Beauty Bestie.

It hit me one Friday night as I dropped my daughter off at Homecoming.

No more being the “admin on duty.” No more walking the stadium for hours, chasing kids running all over the place, keeping an eye on unruly fans, and worrying about everyone’s safety. No more dragging myself home late, exhausted, with nothing left to give my own family.

Instead, it was Friday, I was exactly where I wanted to be, and I was the happiest I have ever been. I’m healthier now than I was in my 30s, even my 20s, and I’m proud to be making up for lost time with my family.

My plans that night? I did my own forehead Tox, lip flip, and frown lines while I waited to pick up my sweet girl. Zero complaints. 💉✨
